Dinas Powys Art Scene Continues to Thrive.

Dinas Powys Art Group is proud to announce its fourth annual Art Festival on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September 2026 from 10am to 4pm.

The weekend festival offers a broad spectrum of art for the whole community to engage with, plus a social space to meet friends for refreshments and our popular homemade cakes!

The Village Square in the centre of Dinas Powys will again be the setting for “TAKE PART IN ART”. Following the success of the CommuniTREE in 2024 and the DINAS BUNTING last year, we are delighted to invite you to create “A PORTRAIT”. This is going to be a fun opportunity for everyone, from beginners to more experienced artists, to make a portrait of themselves, a friend or family member. You can use your fingers, brushes, crayons, pencils, twigs - whatever you like. All materials will be supplied and it’s free. We cannot wait to see your wonderful creations and see how many smiles you can put on people’s faces.

The highlight of the Art Festival is the annual painting exhibition in Dinas Powys Parish Hall (CF64 4AF) where over 150 original artworks, curated by local professional artist, Mr Glyn Pooley, will be on display. Additionally, to mark International Day of Peace on 21 st September there will be a display of paintings inspired by the theme of PEACE. We will be raising money for our chosen charities,namely Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern and the Dinas Powys Parish Hall New Roof fund .

We look forward to sharing and creating art with you on the 19th and 20th September.

What better way to spend a few leisurely hours over a weekend, admiring original artwork, getting involved with friends and family in “TAKE PART in ART” and treating yourself to a piece of mouthwatering homemade cake!

Members of the art group collaborated by producing individual square paintings inspired by Mexican art, to produce a large collage which is currently on display at the Turner House Exhibition, Penarth.
